Our Beliefs

The Bible is our all-sufficient rule for faith and practice. This Statement of Fundamental

Truths is intended simply as a basis of fellowship among us (i.e., that we all speak the same thing, 1 Corinthians 1:10; Acts 2:42). We rest our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ for our salvation and believing in the teaching and practices of an independent church and in those great distinctive principles for which they have ever stood, by declaring the following to be a doctrinal statement of our faith:

I. The Scriptures Inspired

We believe the Bible is the divinely inspired word of God and that it is, therefore, the final authority in matters of faith and practices. The Bible, in its original writing, is both inspired and inerrant. The Scriptures, both the Old and New Testaments, are verbally inspired of God and are the revelation of God to man, the infallible, authoritative rule of faith and conduct. (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 1 Thessalonians 2:13; 2 Peter 1:20-21).

II. TRINITY
We believe that there is one God, who is a Trinity, or Tri-Unity, of three distinct persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. They are all coequal and co- eternal. The one true God has revealed himself as the eternally self-existent "I AM," the Creator of heaven and earth and the Redeemer of mankind.  (I John 5:7; Matt 28:19, Isa 9:6; Deut. 6:4; Isaiah 43:10, 11; Luke 3:22).

III. HOLY SPIRIT:
We believe that the Holy Spirit is a Divine Person as truly as are God the Father and God the Son (John 14:15-17; 16:5-15)

IV. JESUS THE CHRIST
We believe that Jesus Christ is God the Son, the Second Person of the Trinity. He is the only man ever to have lived a sinless life (John 1:1, 14, 20:28; Isa 9:6; Phil. 2:5-6; I Tim 2:5)
The Lord Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. The Scriptures declare:
(a) His virgin birth (Matthew 1:23; Luke 1:31,35).
(b) His sinless life (Hebrews 7:26; 1 Peter 2:22).
(c) His miracles (Acts 2:22; 10:38).
(d) His substitutionary work on the cross (1 Corinthians 15:3; 2 Corinthians 5:21).
(e) His bodily resurrection from the dead (Matthew 28:6; Luke 24:39;
1 Corinthians 15:4).
(f) His exaltation to the right hand of God (Acts 1:9,11; 2:33; Philippians 2:9-11;
Hebrews 1:3).

V. RESURRECTION:
We believe that Jesus Christ was physically resurrected from the dead in a glorified body three days after His death on the cross. One day all believers in Christ will also be physically resurrected in glorified bodies to their eternal reward in heaven with God ( Phil 3:21; I Cor 15:42, 44; John 2:19-21, 20:26-28, 21:4; Acts 24:15)

VI. SECOND COMING:
Jesus Christ will physically and visibly return to earth for the second time to establish his kingdom. This will occur at a time undisclosed by the Scriptures (Rev 1:7; Acts 1:10-11; Matt 24:30, 26:63-64; I Cor 15:42, 44; I Thess. 4:16-17).

VII. HEALING
Healing of the sick is illustrated in the life and ministry of Jesus, and is included in the commission of Jesus to his disciples. Healing is a provision of Christ’s atonement on the cross and given as a sign which is to follow believers(Matt 8:16-17; Acts 8:6-7; James 5:14-16; III John 2; Psalms 103:2-3; Isa 53:5; Mark 16:17-18).

VIII. The Fall of Man
Man was created good and upright; for God said, "Let us make man in our image,
after our likeness." However, man by voluntary transgression fell and thereby incurred
not only physical death but also spiritual death, which is separation from God (Genesis
1:26, 27; 2:17; 3:6; Romans 5:12-19).

IX. The Salvation of Man
Man's only hope of redemption is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ the Son of
God.
(a) Conditions to Salvation
Salvation is received through repentance toward God and faith toward the Lord Jesus
Christ. By the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, being justified by
grace through faith, man becomes an heir of God according to the hope of eternal life (Luke
24:47; John 3:3; Romans 10:13-15; Ephesians 2:8; Titus 2:11; 3:5-7).
(b) The Evidences of Salvation
The inward evidence of salvation is the direct witness of the Spirit (Romans 8:16). The
outward evidence to all men is a life of righteousness and true holiness (Ephesians 4:24;
Titus 2:12).

X. HEAVEN:
Heaven is the eternal dwelling place of all who believe in Jesus Christ (II Cor 5:1; I Peter 1:4; Heb 11:16; John 17:24; Matt 5:3, 12, 20, 6:20, 19:21, 25:34).

XI. HELL:
After living one life on earth, those who rejected Christ will be judged justly by God and sent to hell, where they will be eternally tormented together with the devil and the fallen angels (Heb 9:27; Matt 25:41; Rev 14:9-11, 20:12-15, 21:8; Mark 9:43-48).
